At the Ocotillo Wells Off Road Vehicle Area, you simply find a spot you want to park, and you have an instant campsite.  For this campout we had 6 RVs around the fire ring.  The veterans had their usual spot picked out, and gave us the GPS coordinates to make it easy to find.  Technology is GREAT.

Jake, Capri and I borrowed some "toys" for some wild fun off road style.  None of us had ridden quads before.

With your first quad experience often comes with your first quad wipe out.  Jake some how managed to get run over by the quad he was riding, so now he has the battle scars to tell stories to his friends about.

Capri was digging the quads also, she even made a comment that she would rather have a quad then a puppy.  I knew this could not be true, she was only joking.

A bunch of us set out to explore the sites in the area.  Everyone but Mike and our family were desert veterans.  Here we are at the Pumpkin Patch, a strange place with rock formations that look like pumpkins.

Picking one out will be a lot easier then the carving this time.

One of the Daytime activities to do was fire Mikes Spud Canon.  It fires potatoes, but we found it worked best with tennis balls.  Here is a link to a clip of Lori firing the canon.  The ball would travel about a block near the far camper you see in the clip when the camera pans towards were she fired the canon.
