We left for this trip on Friday July 3rd and headed north through LA then the central valley of California.  Our plan was to get north of Sacramento a little ways and then spend the night in a Wal-Mart parking lot.  When we got to our destination it was about 6:30 and still 96 degrees so we kept driving until 9:30 and 75 degrees at Yreka, Ca, pretty close to the Oregon border.   not long before our stop we drove past Mt.
