The canyon is so deep it is always hard to get a feel for it in images.

The canyon walls basically "glow" red in this area.

Another weeping wall.

On the main trail getting to and from the Narrows, the squirrels are incredibly friendly, and well fed. They say they will easily jump right into your backpack looking for food, if you set it down.

The next morning, Lori and I headed up the Angels Landing hike. Capri and Jake were not up to the major climb.

The views from up at this point are truely incredible. It is a VERY hard hike, but well worth it.

Part of the hike trail takes you up the narrow canyon in the below image (shaded slice in the middle) Then you end up traversing the razors edge of rock (middle of the image below) some places are no more the 3-4 feet wide with a 800 foot drop one side and 1200 foot drop on the other.

This hike is not for anyone with any fear of heights.

After a couple days in Zion we continued homeward with a stop in Las Vegas to spend some time with Lori's sister Lynn and her husband Jim. They happen to be there for a convention with Lynn's company GlaxoSmithKline.
