The next stop was Lake Louise.  This was the first lake we saw the really had the strange greens or blue.  Since the lakes in the area a fed by glacier melt, they have a lot of what is called glacier flour.  This is a super fine power the is ground up by the glacier and suspended in the water.

Lake Louise also has it large old style hotel, the Fairmont Lake Louise.

At this point in the trip we have started to spot more black bears along side the road.  This one we along the road to Moraine Lake.

Near Lake Louise is Moraine Lake.  When we first got to the shores of the lake, it did not really seem special,  The 10 peaks around it were much more impressive then the lake itself.  Jake and I decided to climb a massive rock pile at one end of the lake for the fun of climbing.  When we got to the top, we were amazed at how different the lake looked when you have some height on it.  We yelled down to Lori and Capri so they would come up also.

Continuing up the Bow Valley one of the first major glaciers you come to is the Crow Foot Glacier.

Below are a few images of Bow lake

Along Bow Lake there is a pretty unique 8 sided lodge with a bright red roof.

Along this part of the Icefields Highway there are glaciers all over the place.  This one is above Bow Lake and had a large waterfall for its melt to make it to the lake.  The below image was taken with all telephoto we had, the waterfall is probably 400 foot tall or more.
