Our next stop was New York City. This mega city was to much for us to tackle on our own so for this first visit we decided to do a bus tour. It left right from the campground we stayed at on the shores in Jersey City NJ. Typical of an all day bus tour, there is a lot to see and not a lot of time, so you really get highlights of most everything. One of the first places was the Dakota apartments and the image below is the spot where John Lennon was killed.

Here we are in Central park with the Manhattan skyline in the background.

This is St. Patrick Cathedral, one of the few major old world European style churches in the US.

Empire State Building.

Rockefeller Center. In the summer this area is a food court/street vendor area, in the winter the big Christmas tree is here and there is a ice skating rink below the gold statue.

This is Grand Central Station and our lunch stop in the down stairs food court.

We got out at the World Trade Center site, but there is not much here to see anymore, all the debris has been removed and they are fully into the construction of the new buildings, so it is just another construction site like any other.
