Day 5 we drove to Glacier Point and as seen below here we stopped for the famous photo at the "tunnel view".  This place is truly beautiful.  You can see El Capitan the big cliff above Lori and I and Half Dome in the back above Capri.

Here we are at Glacier Point Lookout with Half dome behind us.

You can see a little break in the trees below Half Dome and in the middle of the valley.  That is the road we were on when we took the photo of the family with Half Dome above in the first set of Yosemite images.  Hard to image a Glacier from the valley floor to 600 feet above our heads from this vantage point.

Here you see Yosemite falls, the 7th largest drop of a waterfall in the world, a 2425 foot drop.  Below the waterfall is the main village and visitor center area of the Yosemite valley.  They have done a fantastic job of making the buildings, roads and parking lots blend in.  Remember, that infrastructure has to support millions of people a year, yet you can barely see it.

Next we hiked to Haft point, a 2-3 mile hike.  There is a little railing at the very point, but otherwise you could easily just walk off the edge of this sheer cliff.  Across the valley you see El Capitan, frequently climbed by only the best mountain climbers.  It take more then a day to get to the top so they have to sleep on the side of that cliff.

Coming back into the main valley from Glacier Point we stopped at Bridal Vail falls.

Here we are on the sidewalk to the base of Yosemite Falls  This is level and easily accessible so it is one of the most crowed spots in the whole park.

Day 6, we headed out but had to drive back into Yosemite to get out on the south entrance since the road we stayed on was closed.  We stopped one more time for a view at the tunnel view.  We will be certainly come  back many times to this great place.

Our last stop was at Lodgepole Campground in Sequoia National Park.  Our campsite was visited be a wounded deer late that afternoon.

We all had been to Sequoia before and had lots of pictures of the trees so I guess we really did not take many this year.  We did a couple of short hikes in the Sequoia groves and also stopped at the new kids nature center.  Jake and Capri were in heaven there and spent plenty of time playing with all the hands-on exhibits.
