Next we drove up to the northern end of the park to Scotty's Castle. On the way there we ran through rain for awhile. Driest place in North America and we have rain. It did not bother us and was only while driving.

Scotty's Castle is a pretty unique place with many modern advances you might find only in a nice city castle.

Walter Scott, Death Valley Scotty, convinced everyone that he had built the castle with money from his rich secret mines in the area. Albert Mussey Johnson actually built the house as a vacation getaway for himself and his wife Bessie. Scotty was the mystery, the cowboy, and the entertainer, but he was also a friend. Albert was the brains and the money.

Tours are given by Docents that dress and act like they are from the roaring 20's & 30's, the heyday of the castle.
