While hiking around Zion, one thing that you find everywhere is deer.  They were quite used to humans and several times we found ourselves only 10-20 feet from them.  At one point we were driving through a valley in the eastern part of the park and saw probably 100-150 deer in a 3 mile stretch.

Zion is all about towering cliffs.

At sunset, the red rocks began to almost glow with the low light.

Cutting through the park is the Virgin River, its this water flow that made the 2000 ft deep canyon.

One of the most famous hikes in Zion is called the Narrows.  In November the air was only in the lower 50s and the water was in the 40s so we are going to have to save that hike for another stop here at a warmer time of year.  You could rent "dry" pants and boots from local outfitters, but if you ever slipped on a rock and got wet above the waist it would be miserable.
